LIST OF PLACES TO VISIT IN NHA TRANG

1. Long Son Pagoda (Phat Trang church, Long Son Co Tu).

In1886, monk Thich Ngo Chi established Long Son Pagoda – the biggest one in Nha Trang city today. On the foothills of Trai Thuy, there is Chinh Dien (Main hall), bronze Buddha statue with 1.6 meters tall and 700kg weight. Halfway up the hill, there is nirvana Buddha statue with 17 metres long. The statue of Buddha Shrine sitting sermon with 31 metres high is located on the top of the hill.

2. Institute of Oceanography Nha Trang.

Founded in 1923, it was considered as the biggest storage of more than 20,000 specimens with over 4,000 species and a humpback whale skeleton with 18 meters long and 18 tons weight. The most attractive is to see lively and rare marine species in the aquarium such as corals, seals, demon fishes, sharks, sea anemones

3. Po Nagar Tower

Po Nagar with its unique brick architecture of the ancient Cham consists of three levels: low-rise tower– Thap Cong (Gate Tower); the middle tower is set for tourists to take a rest and to prepare offerings; the top tower is a place of worship with the stupa worship. Constructional techniques of the ancient Cham have many mysteries that haven’t yet explained by scientific. Here, tourists also enjoy Apsara dance performed by the lovely Cham girls wearing their traditional costume.

4. Chong island

You will be surprised at layer after layer of massive rocks that have existed for millions of years. Chong island is a large stone block that has a special shape looking like deep handprint with the five fingers close together according to the legend of local residents. Vo island, formed by a different rock looks like the woman holds her child waiting her husband after his working on the sea.

5. Nha Trang Mountain Church (Rock Church or  Nha Trang Cathedral).

Located on a small mountain with 12 meters high, Nha Trang Mountain Church owns a unique and ancient architecture has been built since 1928. Its main color is gray with Gothic architecture and French style that looks like ancient Roman palaces, castles. A valuable bell made by the famous bell brand, Carillon France Bourdon is hung on the bell tower

6. Nha Trang Bao Dai Villa (Cau Da Villa or Cau Da Palace).

It consists of 5 villas built according to ancient French style. From years between 1940 and 1945, Emperor Bao Dai, Queen Nam Phuong and their family often came here to rest, relax, fish, watch the sea and open banquets. The small and lovely villas are combined in harmony with the natural scenery on Canh Long Mountain that creates a beautiful picture. Standing on the villas, tourists can enjoy panoramic city of Nha Trang and breathe the fresh air of an immense and serene sea.

7. XQ Historical Village in Nha Trang

Until now, XQ is the largest embroidery brand in Vietnam and also very famous in the world. Tourists can enjoy the unique embroidery works that is very Vietnamese embroidery art and observe the skillful hands of artisans taking each needle on canvas silk as well as learn traditional embroidery culture. The embroidery works are exhibited in an artful space with Hue architecture.

8. Tram HuongTower (Agarwood  Tower)- symbol of Nha Trang city

The name Tram Huong tower is originated from Agarwood – a rare commodity, with high economic value in Nha Trang. It is built on a dreaming beach. The first floor of the tower is a park with statues decorated clusters like waves. The second floor is the main one with petals and sails. The third floor is the top of the tower that has the image of an agarwood core, just looks like a cage for burning agarwood as well as like a lighthouse on the coast.

9. Hot spring  in Nha Trang Ponagar

Hot spring and natural mineral mud has been recognized with medical organizations as a treatment method for good health as relaxing, stimulating activity of the peripheral nervous system, being good for the heart, arthrosis and beautiful skin. Services include: mineral mud bath, soaking in mineral herbs, swimming pool, waterfall spa and “temperate aquatic therapy”, massage, sauna … (expenses excluded) .

10. Dai Beach

Dai  Beach in Nha Trang has become popular with visitors in and out the country for its wild and rustic beauty. The sand beach is smooth and very clean. Sea’s slope is gentle; the water is not too deep so you can play with waves or drop into the blue water safely. Seafood is fresh, delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. You can also use entertainment services such as surfing, canoes and  jet skiing

11. Doc Let Beach (Doc Lech Beach). (Special charges)

The way to Doc Let comes across the white sand dunes with tens of meters high and Casuarina-trees that separate land and sea. Behind the dunes, there is the beautiful beach with 10 kilometers long and white, smooth sand. Tourists can use the entertainment services of Doc Let Resorts or enjoy fresh and cheap seafood from market nearby.

12. Waterland Resort – Thach Lam Sping (Special charges)

Thach Lam Spring owns a wild and dreaming landscape. There are many trees along both sides of stream. Tourists can breathe fresh air in the mountain and participate in the game Rafting for conquering the stream by their robust hands, have new experiences in the game grass skiing; relax at Day Ngoc pond, test with Mini Golf 18 holes and paint shooting game; or taste the special and popular dishes in a rural market.

13. Yang Bay Waterfall in Nha Trang (Yang Bay Tourist Park). (Special charges)

Yang Bay Waterfall has a total length of 2,000 meters, is divided into several sections with different 80 meters high and having its natural lake. Visitors can relax with many interesting things such as watching the tree “Moc Than”, visiting the wildlife preservation, gardens of rose, peach and fairy, fishing crocodile, soaking mineral hot spring, ostrich riding, enjoying ethnic music programs ethnic, folk games, children’s playing area .

14. The grave of Dr. Alexandre Yersin ( Doctor Yersin’s tomb). (Special charges)

Alexandre Yersin – great scholar who lived nearly 50 years in Nha Trang, spent his life to devote for science and found the cure plague serum. After his death, his tomb is located in Suoi Dau Farm, an agricultural base for research of Nha Trang Pasteur Institute established by the doctor Yersin in 1914. Especially, according to his will, people put him sleeping on stomach with his head turned to the sea to let him embrace the land, his second home.

15. Truong Son Craft Village

Tourists may see the magnificent driftwood works, watch the local people knitting fishing nets weaving, weaving mats, creating conical hats, etc. within houses with vivid red tile roofs, In addition to traditional items, the locals here have also developed stunning ornamental products from sedge mats and fishing nets. Here, tourists also may see enormous creatures knitted by plastic. The newest is the work Dong Son bronze drum, 4m in diameter, constructed of synthetic plastic. Truong Son craft village also shows numerous pieces of art by prominent artists in Nha Trang. Visitors come here to have an opportunity to witness the sculptures displaying the Cham culture of the sculptor Doan Xuan Hung, the sculptures influenced by history. Tourists to Truong Son craft village will not only explore the handicrafts but also see the garden full of flowers and fruits. In May, Truong Son craft village had 2,000 sunflowers in bloom; hundreds of Vietnamese rose pots are also blossoming.
